Acoustic echo cancellation is acommon occurrence in today’s telecommunicationsystems. Echo is the phenomenon in which delayedand distorted version of an original sound orelectrical signal is reflected back to the source.These reflected signals caused of time delayed anda reduction in the quality of the communication.The cancellation of echo can be efficientlyaccomplished by using adaptive filteringalgorithms is implemented in this paper. Thissystem presents analysis of two algorithms namelyLeast Mean Square (LMS) and Discrete CosineTransform Least Mean Square (DCT-LMS). Thealgorithms is implemented in Matlab and testedfor echo reduction in speech signals. Theperformance of the proposed method is evaluatedby using Echo Return Loss Enhancement (ERLE)and Mean Square Error (MSE).
