In this paper,a computer-based global and regional diagnosis isdeveloped to identify cardiac abnormality on 2Dechocardiography. The system consists endocardiumtracking, boundary modeling and segmentation, anddisease detection globally and regionally.A globalindex was proposed to predict the left ventricularfunction by analyzing the shape deformation.Parameters of boundary motion such as displacement,velocity, and strain rate were applied to produce localfeatures of each segment. Fifty-four set data was usedto assess the performance of the developed system.Manual interpretation from three experts was used tovalidate the proposed technique.
