However, currentretrieval techniques in these areas are not assophisticated as textual and 2D imagetechniques and in many cases rely upon textualsearching through associated keywords. Thework presented in this paper aims to retrievesimilar 3D shapes from the large number of 3Dobject datasets. Firstly three virtual views, topview, side view and front view, of an object areextracted from 3D objects to perform dimensionreduction of 3D model into 2D model. Secondly,we extract the features of the shape bycalculating the ratios of virtual views of anobject using Euclidean distance. For searchingshape similarity, k-nearest neighbor algorithmis applied.
