In this paper, we propose an efficient miningapproach to discover the web navigationpatterns by employing the concept of themaximal forward references. We first propose apath traversal graph construction algorithmbased on a compact graph structure, to recordinformation about the navigation paths ofwebsite visitors. We then propose a graphtraverse algorithm to discover the frequent webnavigation patterns. The approach is based onthe path traversal graph algorithm to discoverweb user navigation patterns for the navigationpatterns mining phase. The proposed system hasbeen tested on CTI dataset.
