The process of matching rules isperformed by the data-driven approach, ForwardChaining method, in the Rule-Based Expert System.As the rules and data grow, the time complexity ofForward Chaining method is exponential. Because ofthis exponential complexity, the system will performquite slowly. So reducing the processing time playsthe important role in Forward Chaining method. TheRete algorithm provides for reducing the processingtime. This algorithm drops the time complexity ofForward Chaining to linear rather than exponential.It can improve the performance of the system. Thispaper applies a Rule-Based Expert System forhelping to choose the specific doctors according tothe diseases.
