In thispaper, we develop a method for surfacereconstruction from 3D data set. This gives a morerobust approach than existing methods using onlypure 2D information. Our method associates 3DDelaunay triangulation data structure with thegeometric convection algorithm. Moreover, we alsouse the 3D Voronoi Diagram for reconstructing thesurface. Given a good program for this fundamentalsubroutine, the algorithm is quite easy to simple.Our method may also be used to simplify shapes byremoving small features which would require anexcessive number of elements to preserve them inthe output mesh.
