To authenticate a message, the sender computes a hashvalue for the message. Then, the message is encrypted to ensurethat only the legal recipient can read the message contents andsend the encrypted message and hash value. The receiverdecrypts the incoming message. Then, it regenerates a new hashvalue from the decrypted message and compares the new hashvalue with the received hash value.
