This system reliablyrecognizes QRS complexes based upon digital analyses of slope,amplitude, and width. In order to reduce false detections causedby noises in ECG signals, a digital band pass filter is alsoincorporated. This filtering permits use of low thresholds,thereby increasing detection sensitivity. This system can detectaccurately on ECG signals having many diverse signalscharacteristics QRS morphologies and heart rate changes byautomatically adjusting the thresholds and parametersperiodically. The effectiveness of the algorithm has been testedby using recording obtained from the MIT-BIH arrhythmiadatabase.
