Morphological methodis a tool for extracting image components that areuseful in the representation and description of regionshape, such as boundaries, and skeletons, which areespecially applied in image preprocessing. This paperproposes a new approach to morphological methodusing anytime algorithm for boundary extraction. First,multi-structuring elements are constructed by changingthe direction. Then,morphology erosionoperationusingmulti-structuring element is performed step bystep by using the previous result as input at currentstepaccording to the concept of anytime algorithm. Wecan confirm the effectiveness of proposed method bythe experimental resultswith coarse-to-fine results andthe quality of results improves when the processingtime increases.
