In this paper, an imagewatermarking algorithm is presented by utilizinga cascade of two powerful mathematicaltransforms; the Lifting Wavelet Transform(LWT) and the Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT). The lifting wavelet transform is appliedto decompose the original image into four subbandimages. Then the discrete cosine transformis computed on the selected sub-band of the LWTcoefficients. The watermark is embedded in theDCT transformed the selected LWT sub-band ofthe cover image. The proposed system focuses onan invisible watermark embedding and qualityfactors such as imperceptibility to degradation ofwatermarked image and performance evaluationmetrics.
