Position estimation for wireless indoor applications
\nis a challenging problem due to lack of standard positioning
\nsystem in indoor environments. The performance of indoor
\nlocalization is restricted with many factors such as complex
\nstructure of the building, various materials inside the building
\nand lack of availability and accessibility of GPS. Moreover,
\nvarious localization techniques and applied wireless
\ntechnologies can also affect the localization capability. Recently,
\ntime based wireless indoor localization is a popular trend.
\nHaving precise time synchronization is a vital concept for
\ngetting the accurate target localization. In this paper, an
\neffective hybrid time synchronization approach is proposed for
\ntime based wireless indoor localization which can increase the
\ntime synchronization accuracy and hence to improve the
\nlocalization performance. This new approach is based on
\nReference Broadcast Synchronization (RBS) and Pairwise
\nBroadcast Synchronization (PBS) protocols, in which the
\nnumber of timing messages is reduced compared with some
\nexisting synchronization protocols. As well, synchronization
\naccuracy is improved as two way message exchange method is
\napplied for time synchronization among all nodes. In addition,
\ntransmission delay is considered by using Gaussian random
\nvariables and probability density function to improve the
\naccuracy performance. The proposed model is simulated with
\npython programming language to show the robustness and
\naccuracy of this system.
