The research problem therefore attempts to answer the question \"Why it can be considered that both emotion and reason play an important role in the life of each individual in Western ethics?\"1 It undertakes a study of some Western ethics to show that although moral philosophers are different in their ontological and epistemological emphasis neither emotion nor reason is denied in their ethics. They generally accept that both emotion and reason are important in making moral decisions and for educating people to have ethical considerations. The idea that a proper balance between emotion and reason can lead to a common good and happiness, has been rooted in their thoughts.2 The descriptive method and the evaluative method are used to achieve the aim of the research.3 An evaluation is made by the principle of reciprocity.4 This dissertation contributes towards an understanding that human behavior is basically driven by emotion and that with reason these emotions can be developed and controlled for the benefit of good human relations. The role of emotions should therefore be acknowledged and thus only a proper balance between the two can achieve morality.5"}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Emotion"},{"interim":"Reason"},{"interim":"Western Ethics"},{"interim":"Morality"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-08-24"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Emotion Versus Reason in Western Ethics.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"456 Kb"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_0","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/3033/files/Emotion Versus Reason in Western Ethics.pdf"},"version_id":"cc41759a-149f-4354-894c-c6790a2fcb11"}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Mai Tin Moe Khaing"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Dissertation "}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2016-05-01"},"item_title":"Emotion Versus Reason in Western Ethics","item_type_id":"21","owner":"15","path":["1582963390870","1582967530791"],"publish_date":"2020-08-24","publish_status":"0","recid":"3033","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Emotion Versus Reason in Western Ethics"],"weko_creator_id":"15","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2021-12-13T02:58:25.803193+00:00"}
