Filters are designed according to what kind of manipulation of the signal is required for a particular application. This paper introduces a first generation IIR digital filters that unifies the classical digital Butterworth filters and the well known maximally at FIR filters. In the design of IIR filters, a commonly used approach is called the bilinear transformation. This design begins with the transfer function of an analog filter, and then performs a mapping from the s-domain to the z-domain. New closed form expressions are provided, and a straight forward design technique is described. The first generation IIR digital filters have more zeros than poles (away from the origin) and their (monotonic) square magnitude frequency responses are maximally flat at w = 0 and at w = π. Another result of the paper is that, for a specified cut-off frequency and a specified number of zeros, there is only one valid way in which to split the zeros between z = -1 and the pass band. This technique also permits continuous variation of the cut-off frequency. IIR filters having more zeros than poles are of interest, because often, to obtain a good trade-off between performance and implementation complexity, just a few poles are best. The results have been demonstrated with the aid of a MATLAB script. The design process of a digital filter is long and tedious if done by hand."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"IIR"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-05-05"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Analysis of First Generalized IIR Digital Butterworth Filter Design Using MATLAB.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1352 Kb"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/2050/files/Analysis of First Generalized IIR Digital Butterworth Filter Design Using MATLAB.pdf"},"version_id":"9f3b66f9-cc86-45f9-ac68-99d6c6a058b7"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_journal_title":"Proceeding of the Second International Conference on Science Engineering","subitem_volume":";V0l. 1"}]},"item_1583103147082":{"attribute_name":"Conference papaers","attribute_value_mlt":[{}]},"item_1583103211336":{"attribute_name":"Books/reports/chapters","attribute_value_mlt":[{}]},"item_1583103233624":{"attribute_name":"Thesis/dissertations","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_supervisor(s)":[]}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Moe Mon Myint"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Hla Myo Tun"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Zaw Min Naing"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Other"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Other"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2010"},"item_1583159847033":{"attribute_name":"Identifier","attribute_value":"https://uyr.uy.edu.mm/handle/123456789/294"},"item_title":"Analysis of First Generalized IIR Digital Butterworth Filter Design Using MATLAB","item_type_id":"21","owner":"1","path":["1582967549708"],"publish_date":"2020-03-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"2050","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Analysis of First Generalized IIR Digital Butterworth Filter Design Using MATLAB"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2021-12-13T07:20:32.814283+00:00"}
