Thus, human resource management practices are broadly applied to retain skillful employees as valuable assets of the organization. This study aims to examine human resource management practices that determine the retention of employees of hotels in Yangon. From among 24 hotels having at least 100 rooms capacity and located in Yangon, 8 hotels were randomly chosen as a sample covering 277 employees representing 11% of the population. Through SPSS version 20.0, multiple linear regression analysis is applied to analyze the data. The study found that among the human resource management practices; training and development and employee participation were vital factors that indeed influenced employee retention in the hotels.
