Patheingyi Township is located in Aungmyaythazan District, Mandalay Region. The \nmain aim of this research is to analyze the population concentration of Patheingyi Township. \nThe objectives of this research paper are: to study relief and drainage, to analyze population \ndistribution and population density, and to examine population concentration of the study \narea. The data related to population are collected from secondary sources. For the purpose of \nanalyzing the population concentration, the scholar S.S. Bhatia’s method of location quotient \nand overlay method in GIS technology are applied here. The result shows that the high and \nmedium concentration of population has been found in western part of the township due \nto the favorable economic activity for agriculture and transportation facilities. \nSubsequently, low concentration of population is found in the northern part and near \nreserved forest area of the study area.
