During displacement, food becomes one of the major requirements and most IDPs rely on food assistance for their family because they are unable to access their land. This study focus on the food security status and the coping mechanism of IDPs living in six IDP camps in Myitkyina, Kachin State. This study used both descriptive and quantitative methods to examine the data. The survey covered IDP’s job opportunities and incomes, expenditure patterns, food security status, voluntarily return, as well as other social and economic aspects of the households. Many households’ expenditures exceed than their regular incomes, and the most common coping strategies used by households were to rely on less preferred and less expensive food, to reduce the size of meals eaten in a day, and to borrow food or rely on help from relatives and friends. Due to the lack of comprehensive political dialogue, the right to return for IDPs is a viable durable solution for the displaced persons in Kachin State."}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-05-05"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Seng Hkawn (EMPA - 54).pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1976 Kb"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_0","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/1128/files/Seng Hkawn (EMPA - 54).pdf"},"version_id":"4486e9a6-1b55-4f6e-bab6-ee31999178ca"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_journal_title":"Yangon University of Economics"}]},"item_1583103233624":{"attribute_name":"Thesis/dissertations","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_awarding_university":"Yangon University of Economics","subitem_supervisor(s)":[{"subitem_supervisor":"Daw Yin Lei Win Swe"}]}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Seng Hkawn"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Other"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Thesis"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2019-08-01"},"item_title":"A STUDY ON FOOD SECURITY STATUS OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN MYITKYINA TOWNSHIP (Seng Hkawn, 2019)","item_type_id":"21","owner":"1","path":["1582963436320","1582965722087"],"publish_date":"2020-03-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"1128","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["A STUDY ON FOOD SECURITY STATUS OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN MYITKYINA TOWNSHIP (Seng Hkawn, 2019)"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-05-27T03:52:51.930232+00:00"}
