The objectives are to examine the factors \naffecting job satisfaction and retention among special education teachers working in \nspecial schools in Yangon and to analyze the relationship between job satisfaction and \nteacher retention. The study used descriptive and regression methods for primary data. \nThe study found that special education teachers exhibit high job satisfaction. A\nsignificant strong positive relationship was found between job satisfaction and teacher \nretention. Work itself, professional development, work conditions, recognition and \nachievement, and pay and benefits significantly positively affect teacher retention. The\nstudy suggests that school leaders should promote a positive attitude toward meaningful \nwork and professional development, and ensure competitive pay and benefits, safe\nsupportive work conditions, and recognition programs.
