Classification of Audio Events in Surveillance System using Genetic Regulatory Network
Kyaw, Tin Ei
The surveillance system at importantpublic places in a noisy environment deals withaudio events detection is essential and usefulapplication. At surveillance systems aiming todetect abnormal situations based on visual clueswhile, in some situations, it may be easier todetect and classify events using the audioinformation. Audio events classification forthreatening environment through GeneticRegulatory Network (GRN) is considered. GRNis adopted as classification framework andgreatly reduced input dimensions. Thus using theresults from GRN framework as inputs forSupport Vector Machine (SVM) can correctlyclassify audio events such as gunshot andexplosion with low computational time andcomplexity. Selecting GRN in event detectionsystem can not only reduces cost and effort butalso aims to obtain high performance andaccuracy in varying nature of environments
