Formalization of Direct Mapping for Relational Data to Semantic Web Representation

The Web is one of the most popular andrichest sources of information. The source of data fora Web page is generally a relational database whichhas been recognized as a key factor in generatinghuge amounts of data for semantic web applications.Relational databases and the Semantic Web, inparticular RDF (Resource Description Framework)as its main data representation format, are twodifferent approaches for modeling and storing datapermanently. To be accessible data from theserelational databases, we have to map relational datato RDF. In addition, extracting knowledge, transforming and understanding data from tables arethe interesting problems in the areas of databases. The problem of mapping databases to RDF hasreceived formal attention from the World Wide WebConsortium (W3C). When mapping relationaldatabases into RDF, we can choose mappings whichpreserve relational constraints and still use thelinking capabilities of RDF. Which approach is themost appropriate one depends on the kind ofapplications for which a resulting RDF graph isassumed to be used. In this approach, in order totransform relational data into Semantic Webrepresentation, we apply formalization rules tocomplete our mapping process. We also propose arule to handle blank node which is one of theproblems of RDF data model. Our main aim is to beeasily accessible relational data content on Semanticweb. This is the initial approach for transformingrelational data and schema items into Semantic Webrepresentation.
