Modelling and Simulation of Self-excited Induction Generator for Wind Turbine
Hla Myo Aung
The goal of this paper is to evaluate the performance of self-excited induction generator with computer simulation. The primary focus of this study is the development of steady state models for self-excited induction generator. The three- phase self-excited induction generator is driven by prime mover such as a wind turbine for the clean alternative renewable energy in rural area. A self-excited induction generator is suitable for isolated and grid connected operations. In this paper, DQ modelling approach for transient state analysis in time domain of the three-phase self-excited induction generator is presented along with its operating performance evaluations. No-load and blocked rotor tests are used to determine the parameters of the induction generator. The simulations have been described an induction generator with the rated data: 3 kW, 2201380 V and 1800 rpm. The whole proposed system has been developed using C program and EX CEL
