<dc:description>The Stokes' parameters characterizing the scattered radiation at all scattering angles as a result of polarized radiation incident on an arbitrary polarized atom in any given arbitrary direction are derived. The scattering of radiation by atoms which are initially in an arbitrary state of polarization and to predict the states of polarization in which the atom is left after the scattering event are also discussed theoretically.</dc:description>
