          <dc:title>A Study on the Groundnuts  Cultivation and Production in Myanmar (Case study in Mohnyin Township,  Kachin State) (Aung Thu Phyo,2024)</dc:title>

          <dc:description>This study analyses the current situation of groundnut cultivation and 
production in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State. Groundnut cultivation plays a vital 
role in Mohnyin Township and explores the current practices, challenges, and potential 
improvements of groundnut farming in the study area. Through face-to-face interviews
with the local farmers, the study identifies key aspects such as the demographic 
characteristics of the respondents, climate conditions, crop management practices, pest 
and disease management, and yield outcomes. Most of the farmers have farming 
experience between 40 years and 60 years. It shows that the farmers in Mohnyin 
Township have good knowledge and practice for growing the groundnut crop. Most of 
the respondents are between 41 years and 50 years. It shows that the middle-aged and 
old-age population are the farmers in Mohnyin Township and people under 40 years do 
not work in the family business or local area. Most of the farmers about 90% of the 
respondents use the manual method and 10% of the respondents use the mechanical 
method. According to these results, the farmers in Mohnyin Township have a low 
standard of living and also the infrastructure such as road transportation, 
communication – internet and telephone connection in Mohnyin Township is an 
underdeveloped situation. Therefore, the government should improve the infrastructure 
in Mohnyin Township to accelerate the productivity of the agriculture sector.</dc:description>
