Finite-state Approach based Myanmar Morphological Analysis Latt, Tin Myo Thida, Aye Morphological analysis (MA) is needed in anyNatural Language Processing (NLP) Application. Itmeans taking a word as input and identifying the stemand affix. MA provides information about a word’ssemantics and the syntactic role which plays in asentence. This paper presents the development of aMyanmar morphological analysis; morphologicalprocesses prevalent in Myanmar language areexplored. We consider Myanmar MA for noun, verb,adjective and adverb. Myanmar morphology revealsthe three types. They are inflectional morphology,derivational morphology and compounding. In thiswork, finite state automaton (FSA) is used to modelMyanmar morphology which contains a monolinguallexicon. MA will be to apply as a portion of theGrammar Checker for detecting grammatical errors inMyanmar texts.
