As the firewall is an essential devices intraditional network, it is also a crucialapplication in the security of modern network,Software Defined Network (SDN), which is thephysical separation of the network control planefrom the forwarding plane, and where a controlplane controls several devices by controller.This paper focus on developing a Ping Floodand Ping of Death attacks protection firewallapplication running on Open NetworkOperating System (ONOS) SDN controller. Thefirewall application enhances the onepingapplication in order to permit ping packet'ssource and destination only predefined in the listof security policy prohibiting the reconnaissancefrom attackers.
