<dc:description>Since people have to accept enormous informationnowadays, they are unmanageable to absorb the mainthemes of their interested articles. More and moreinformation are overloaded, Automatic TextSummarization (ATS) becomes more and moreimportant. ATS is a shortened version of original textincluding the essential, exact and crucial parts. For thenews articles concerned with natural disaster domain, the disaster site is required to know as exact as possible. However, some news text depicts the place names of thehazards generally. In that case, ATS needs knowledgerepositories of toponyms (place names) in order tofigure out the specific locations. This paper presentsontology about toponyms written in Myanmar language. The ontology serves as a component of AutomaticMyanmar Text Summarization System for naturaldisaster domain. As an ontology developmentenvironment, Protégé 4.2 alpha, is used since it isapplied by researchers and programmers broadly aswell as it supports Unicode.</dc:description>
