Moving Object’s Cast Shadow Removal Aung, Moe San Tint, Thuzar Moving object’s cast shadow removal is theactive and challenging research area in computervision and digital image processing. Removing castshadow is the primary step for object tracking andsegmentation system. Shadow cause false classificationand shape distortion. So, the system is proposed toremove the moving object’s cast shadow in the outdoorenvironment. In the system, background modeling isinitially performed by averaging the movement regions.After background modeling, foreground objects areextracted using the background subtraction method.Frame normalization, V channel of HSV color space,Otsu thresholding approach, morphological processingand region properties are employed to detect the castshadow region.
