          <dc:description>Data availability is one of the keyrequirements for cloud storage system. Datareplication has been widely used as a mean ofincreasing the availability in traditional distributeddatabases, peer-to-peer (P2P) systems, and gridsystems. These strategies were all developed forspecific platforms and application types and havebeen tailored to the characteristics of the underlyingsystem architectures and application requirements.Cloud systems differ from these previous frameworksin that they are designed to support large numbers ofcustomer-oriented applications, each with differentquality of service (QoS) requirements and resourceconsumption characteristics. Aiming to provide highdata availability, and improve performance and loadbalancing of cloud storage, efficient replicationmanagement scheme is proposed. In replicationmanagement, the system provides optimum replicanumber as well as weighting and balancing amongthe storage server nodes and experimental resultsprove that the proposed system can improve dataavailability depending on the expected availabilityand failure probability of each node in PC cluster.</dc:description>
