          <dc:description>In the late 1988, the State Law and Order Restoration Council (SLORC) opened up to the outside world and initiated a series of economic reforms. It has also looked forward to having closer trade relationship with all the countries in general and with neighboring countries in particular. In this respect, along with the adoption of market-oriented economy and liberalization of the trade sector, Myanmar adopted free trade policy and legalized border trade with neighboring countries. Since that time, Myanmar’s foreign trade including oversea and cross border trade have developed from year to year and contributed to the economic growth of the country.</dc:description>
