Extraction of Informative Blocks from Myanmar Web Pages Based on Entropy Measure Nyein, Swe Swe With the large amount of information on theInternet, Web pages have been the potentialsource of information retrieval and data miningtechnology. Apart from the informative blocks(main blocks), a web page also comprises ofnoisy information that can degrade theperformance of information retrievalapplications. A method to identify and extract theinformative content from web pages is needed. Inthis paper, we propose an Informative BlockExtraction System using Document Object Model(DOM) tree and Entropy Evaluation Model(EEM) which quantifies the expected value of theinformation contained in a web page.
