Measuring and Evaluating the Understandable Quality Metric for XML Schema documents Thaw, Tin Zar The eXtensible Markup Language (XML)based web applications are used for datarepresenting, exchanging and storing via internetby the usage of XML standard schema. If XMLschema files are difficult to understand forenhancing functions, correcting faults, oradapting them to new circumstances, changesmay cause serious faults. Such changes may costmore time and money than remaking new XMLschema document (XSD). A good understandablequality design of XSD increases softwareproductivity and minimize development time. Inthis paper, the understandable quality metric(UQ) is proposed for the assessment of thequality of W3C XML schema document. Themetric is formulated based on binary entropymethod. The greater UQ value leads to moreunderstandable quality.
