Case-Based Reasoning System for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Soe, Zun Myat Myat Htike, Thin Thin Min, Mar Mar Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is the process ofsolving new problems based on the solution ofsimilar past problems. The system stores theknowledge of medical experts and the medicalrecords of the previous cases. In medicine, it is verydifficult to get correct diagnosis because there aremany possible diseases in each case. And it is alsoimportant to get diagnosis as soon as possible to savelives of people. It is not easy for a person to consult amedical specialist whenever she feels a symptom of adisease. In this situation, a computer program givinghealth information provides users to decide whetherthe symptom is serious or not. The fundamental ideain CBR is problem solving based on the retrieval ofsimilar cases, in its simplest form this is k-nearestneighbor classification.
