Name Entity Recognition for Myanmar Language Myint, Thida Name Entity Recognition (NER) is oneof the fundamental problems in many NaturalLanguage Processing applications. NE consistsof names, person, location, organization, time,numerical expressions and etc. Not much workshave been done on NER for Myanmar language.Due to the characteristics of Myanmar language,NE extraction is more difficult than EnglishLanguage. Myanmar Language is also difficultto distinguish NE and common word because itlacks of orthographical information to signalNEs, no boundary indication between words andno capitalization like English. In this paper, wepropose NER algorithm which can recognizethree classes of NEs: Person, Organization andLocation.
