Phonetic Errors Checking of Myanmar Language Mon, Aye Myat Spell checker is an essential component ofword processing, Machine Translation systemand Office Automation system. MyanmarPronunciation and orthography has differencesbecause spelling is often not an accuratereflection of pronunciation. Pronunciation of aword may lead to misspelling. Beside, inMyanmar compound words, the next worddepends on the previous meaning of the word. Inthis paper, we propose a phonetic error checkingalgorithm for Myanmar compound words.Firstly, we segment the sentence with longestmatching approach. Secondly, we check phoneticerror with the proposed algorithm by applyingMyanmar corpus. Finally, the system providesuggestion list which contains the correctcompound word by computing string cosinesimilarity.
