<dc:title>A simple rule based Myanmar POS Tagger</dc:title>
          <dc:creator>Myint, Cynthia</dc:creator>
<dc:description>This paper presents a simple rule-based POStagger to tag the correct syntactic categories ofthe Myanmar words by applying lexicon basedword segmentation and heuristic rule basedtagging method. Firstly, input sentence istokenized into words by using syllable breakingand syllable merging with longest matchingapproach. Secondly, this system defines thedetailed tag sets for POS tagging process byusing nine different POS in Myanmar grammar. Finally, the proposed system solves the POSambiguities of one word by applying worddisambiguation rules which are generated frommorphological features of Myanmar grammar. So, the proposed system can provide manybenefits to Myanmar-English translation systemand other NLP tasks.</dc:description>
