<dc:description>Machine Translation Systems expect targetlanguage output to be grammatically correctwithin the frame of proper grammaticalcategory. In Myanmar-English statisticalmachine translation system, the proposed systemconcerns with the target language model tosmooth the translated English sentences. Most ofthe typical grammar checkers can detectungrammatical sentences and seek for whaterror it is. However, they often fail to detectgrammar errors for translated English sentencesuch as missing words. Therefore, we intend todevelop an ongoing grammar checker forEnglish as a second language (ESL). There aretwo main tasks in this approach: detecting thesentence pattern in chunk structure andanalyzing the chunk errors. This system identifiesthe chunk types and generates context freegrammar (CFG) rules for recognizinggrammatical relations of chunks. It also presentsa hybrid approach of trigram-based markovmodel with rule-based model. Experimentalresults show that the proposed grammar checkercan improve the effectiveness of translationquality.</dc:description>
