Word Alignment System for Myanmar-English Machine Translation Nwet, Khin Thandar Soe, Khin Mar Thein, Ni Lar Word alignment in bilingual corpora hasbeen an active research topic in the MachineTranslation research groups. In this paper, thesystem describes an alignment system that alignsEnglish-Myanmar texts at word level in parallelsentences. Since word alignment research onMyanmar and English languages is still in itsinfancy, it is not a trivial task for Myanmar -English text. Thus, the main purpose of thissystem is to construct word-aligned parallelcorpus to be able in Myanmar-English machinetranslation. The proposed approach iscombination of corpus based approach anddictionary lookup approach.
