Personal Identification System Based on Fingerprint features Win, Zin Mar Sein, Myint Myint Fingerprint-based identification is one ofthe core methodologies for personalidentification. It remains a reliable, efficient andcommonly accepted biometric. We propose afingerprint recognition system for identifying thelow quality fingerprint images from inkedprintedimages on paper. Traditional minutiabased approach is not robust to poor qualityfingerprint images. In proposed system, thetexture-based approach for fingerprintrecognition using Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT) is developed. The input image ispreprocessed and gabor filtering is applied forridge line enhancement. The system finds thelocal features of the fingerprint using DWT andit is compared to the database using Euclideandistance metric.
