A CSMA/CA based TDMA Protocol for MAC Layer in Wireless Sensor Networks Zaw, Sai Maung Maung This paper is presented as hybrid protocol forMAC layer in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Itcombines contention and schedule-based methods.Time slots are assigned at deployment andreassigned when significant changes in topology.Time slot assignment is designed by semidistributedmanner. A base station is considered asa master only for its one-hop children becausenodes are also memory (buffer)-constrained onesin real world. When a base station sends token toits neighboring nodes all the way through thelargest-hop nodes and token is sent back to thebase station causing the overflow of buffer or thetime slot assignment table may be damaged duringtoken is passing through all the nodes.
