Querying Temporal Database System for University Staff Database Phyu, Su Lei A temporal database is a database withbuilt-in time aspects or a temporal data model anda temporal version of structured query language.More specifically the temporal aspects usuallyinclude valid time and transaction time. Theseattributes go together to form bi-temporal data.Valid time denotes the time period during which afact is true with respect to the real world.Transaction time is the time period during which afact is stored in the database. Bi-temporal datacombines both Valid and Transaction Time.In this system, university staff databasemanagement system using temporal database isused for university staff transfer, promotion,education, training, experience, salary and positionhistory need to be maintained. The main task of thesystem is to record the time varying data aboutuniversity staffs database. University has differentdepartments and different roles of staff. This staffhas owned different positions and different salaryon time varying. This system can maintain andanalyze the staff’s history, position status andsalary.
