IMPLEMENTATION OF LIBRARY SYSTEM USING VERTICAL FRAGMENTATION METHOD IN DISTRIBUTED DATABASE San, Shwe Mi Nyunt, Kyi Zar Distributed Database Management System(DDBMS) is a software system that permits themanagement of the distributed database and makesthe distribution transparent to users. DDBMSconsists of a single logical database that is split intoa number of fragments. Each fragment is stored onone or more computer under the control of aseparate DBMS and is connected by communicationnetworks. The distributed library system is usedvertical fragmentation method. Book information,loan information and member information arevertically fragmented and stored at three differentsites.
