          <dc:description>Information retrieval (IR) is the area ofstudy concerned with searching documents orinformation within documents. It is finding ordiscovery process to obtain relevant web pagesfrom a collection of information resources. Theuser describes information needs with a querywhich consists of a number of words. Ontologybasedapproach to information retrieval (IR) is aknowledge repository in which concepts and termsare defined as well as relationships between theseconcepts. The system aims to develop informationretrieval using ontology of dress structure forincorporating semantic into an intelligent dresssearch system. The user can search appropriatedress such as type of dress, gender, dress color,size, brand, fabric and style, etc. The systemimplements information retrieval system using BMString search algorithm to extract web pagesfrom the ontology, ranking method (TF_IDF) tocalculate weights of the terms, and cosinesimilarity method to get relevance pages.</dc:description>
