<dc:description>The aim of this paper is to analyze the lexical cohesion in the short story The Star Child by Oscar Wilde. The objectives are to find out how many lexical items are related to each other and to classify them based on the Cohesive Theory of Halliday and Hasan (1976). The study shows that the lexical cohesive devices found are repetition, synonym, superordinate and general word. It is found that repetition is the most frequently used device and superordinate is the least.</dc:description>
