          <dc:creator>Aye Mi San</dc:creator>
<dc:description>This paper intends to analyze the effect of macro-environment factors and&#13; organizational competencies on competitive strategies, and their effect on firm&#13; performance of film production firms. Among (100) film production firm, which are&#13; currently operating in the industry, (30) firms are randomly selected to survey through&#13; the personal interview method. It is found that&#13; the firm's owners practice cost&#13; leadership strategy when they are suffering from bad effect of political, economic and&#13; technological forces, although socio-cultural forces favors to practice cost leadership&#13; strategy. The firm's owners choose the differentiation strategy when they see good&#13; effect of political and technological forces. Moreover, their strength in financial&#13; management and human resources encourage them to practice the differentiation&#13; strategy. It is also found that firms with cost leadership strategy cannot reap strong&#13; financial performance. Whether the firms adopt cost leadership or differentiation&#13; strategies, it can lead to good internal business process performance. Recently, most&#13; of the owners practice cost leadership strategy without investing in learning and new&#13; technologies. Therefore, firms should find out ways to promote human capabilities&#13; and technologies to be able to adopt differentiation strategy and achieve successful&#13; organizational performance.</dc:description>
