<dc:title>ANALYSIS OF GROUNDNUT PRODUCTION IN BAGAN NYAUNG-U TOWNSHIP</dc:title>
          <dc:creator>Hnin Wai Soe</dc:creator>
<dc:description>Groundnut is cultivated primarily as a source of cooking oil for domestic consumption and serves as the main cash crop for rural households in the study area. The main objectives of the study are to study characteristics and condition of groundnut production and to analyze the influencing factors of groundnut production in Bagan Nyaung-U Township. The study used two-stage stratified random sampling technique, descriptive method and inferential statistics. The required sample of 197 farm households was selected from with proportionately in each village. Dependent variable is total groundnut production and independent variables are demographic factors, production factors, technological factors and institutional factors. The regression results reveal that total land size, cost per unit, and access to credit significantly influence total groundnut production, exhibiting a positive correlation. Conversely, the age of groundnut farmers and the use of machinery are found to be significant but negatively related to groundnut production. The most impactful factors affecting groundnut production are total land size, followed by per unit cost, access to credit, age of farmers,
and machinery usage, in decreasing order of influence. To enhance the productivity of groundnut production, the government need to facilitate effective training on the application of fertilizers and pesticides, promote the adoption of hybrid seeds through knowledge-sharing initiatives, and strengthen agricultural extension services in Bagan Nyaung-U Township.</dc:description>
