Myanmar and Asean Interaction Win Kyaw The purpose of this research is to analyze Myanmar's interaction with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries since I 997. This work of research takes a close look at Myanmar's fulfilled conditions of entry to be a member of ASEAN and the changes of ASEAN's policy toward Myanmar. It reviews the development of interaction between Myanmar and ASEAN member countries for political and security cooperation, economic cooperation and socio-cultural cooperation. Myanmar has fulfilled its political development for the implementation of ASEAN Political - Security Comm'unity (APSC) in 2015. She has significantly reduced tariff rates through Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT) scheme for ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) in 2015. Besides, Myanmar has made efforts for the development of the sub-regional interaction for economic cooperation. She has actively participated in all ASEAN's economic cooperation activities and signed all necessary agreements for the implementation of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. Moreover, Myanmar has also actively participated in all sectors of human and social development activities with ASEAN member countries for the implementation of ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) in 2015. In the socio-cultural interaction, the focus of research is on Human Resource Development (HRD) activities, environmental cooperation and culture and information cooperation. This research analyzes the opportunities and challenges of Myanmar's interaction with ASEAN and the requirements that Myanmar has to fulfill in its cooperation for building ASEAN Community. 2011-03-30 https://meral.edu.mm/records/8975
