<dc:title>The Effect of Individual and Institutional Factors on Saving Behavior of Microfinance Users in Yangon Division ( Khaing Zin Oo, 2023)</dc:title>
          <dc:creator>Khaing Zin Oo</dc:creator>
<dc:description>The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of individual and institutional
factors on saving behavior of microfinance users, in Yangon division. The descriptive
statistics and multiple regression method were mainly used. A total of 200 voluntary
savers from four MFIs are obtained by using Yamane (1973) formula. This samples are
selected by using simple random sampling method. This study used both primary and
secondary data. The primary data were collected by structured questionnaire. Factors
considered in model are individual factors (self control, motive, financial literacy and
social network) and institutional factors (security, incentive, access and information).
The results were found that financial literacy and motive from individual perspective
and financial security and access to finance from institutional perspective were positive
effect on saving behavior. It is suggested that MFIs should more pay attention to raise
the financial literacy level of MFIs user by giving training opportunities to their clients.
As having individual motive for saving also influences their behavior, MFI experts
should learn client reasons of savings and setting goals to promote specified saving
products for their choice. Finally, MFI should provide the secured and accurate saving
services as well as create accessible microfinance services which meet the needs of
local demand for financial services.</dc:description>
