<dc:title>A Study of Awareness on Occupational Hazards Among the Farmers in Myanmar (Case Study : Hmawbi Township). ( Khin Khin Htun, 2022)</dc:title>
          <dc:creator>Khin Khin Htun</dc:creator>
<dc:description>This study aims to investigate the knowledge and attitude concerning
occupational hazards among the farmers from Myo Chaung Village Tract of Hmawbi
Township. Cross-sectional descriptive study approach was applied to collect the survey
data among 125 respondents who were currently working in the plantation sector. Selfadministrative
structured questionnaire was used to collect the data among the chosen
respondents. Random sampling method was used in choosing a village tract from 39-
Village Tracts of the selected Township. While choosing individual respondent,
systematic sampling method was applied. Primary and secondary data were based on
the survey analysis (the period from 2000-2020). Knowledge questions were correctly
answered by most of respondents except in the areas for the occupational hazards
namely biological hazards, psychological hazards, and mechanical hazards. However,
physical hazards were well recognized by most of the respondents since more than twothirds
of respondents correctly answered those questions. Most of the respondents have
fair attitude. It is concluded that most of the respondents from Hmawbi Township have
satisfactory knowledge and attitude regarding occupational hazards. However, there are
weakness areas to be improved by means of health education and prevention of
occupational hazards should be strengthened, upgraded on every agricultural industry
to improve the farmers’ awareness and develop occupational safety and health.</dc:description>
