<dc:description>A research has been undertaken on the species Sonneratia caseolaris (L.) Engl. of the family Lythraceae growing wild in Khayar village, on the bank of Zathapyin creek, near the mouth of Jyine river, Kayin State. Fruits were berry, green globose, leathery with star-shaped base, persistent calyx and pointed style, riped fruits, brown color. In mesocarp region of fruit contained sclereids and vascular bundle. According to preliminary phytochemical test, all constituents were present in the fruit. In this paper, a study on microscopical characters, powdered of diagnostic characters, preliminary phytochemical constituents, physicochemical, elemental analysis and nutritional values of fruit. These characters help to provide in identification of the traditional medicine for standardization.</dc:description>
