Phytochemical, Physicochemical and Antibacterial Activities from the Leaves of Anacardium occidentale L. Khine Myo Myo Su Moet Moet Khine Anacardium occidentale L. (Thiho-thayet) belongs to the family Anacardiaceae. Morphological examinations have been done so as to ascertain their correct identification. The phytochemical investigations of the leaves indicated the presence of saponin, reducing sugar, phenolic compound, glycoside, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, starch and terpenoid. In physicochemical properties, powdered samples were more soluble in water, methanol and ethanol but slightly soluble in ethyl-acetate and pet-ether.
